Perhaps even change it so that Sasuke ACTUALLY SHOWS UP TO THE WEDDING (what? no I’m not salty, why would you ask me that?) So yeah, it’s still canonical novel content, just altered in regards to certain plot points and its location on the timeline.

So it’s very possible that they just wanted to bump this up a bit in the timeline, and depending on the way they adapt the ending of the novel, they may or may not change the other novels as well. Well, I’d like to argue that, like in Itachi Shinden, I think SP is tweaking a couple of plot points. So yeah, it sounds like the entire questioning is over, right? And this novel would have obviously occurred after their wedding, regardless of the helpful clarification, considering the way the novel ends (I choose not to spoil anything, since I don’t expect many to have read it). So the actual novel, Sasuke Shinden, explicitly states that Naruto and Hinata, during this scene, are married once Hinata enters the fray, which the anime does not clarify. What would that accomplish, besides appealing to the fans thirst for the Sauce minus the psychotic lust for ~revolution~(๑ So I did a bit of research, because I felt it odd that SP would animate the novels out of chronological order, seeing as Shikamaru Hiden and Konoha Hiden (Aka THE ACTUAL WEDDING) would be animated after this arc, in that particular order. This gave birth (haha) to an even more popular theory that Hinata’s little fainting episode was due to early stages of pregnancy, which is a pretty big claim, seeing as that’d make the other girls not too far from getting pregnant, themselves, and it didn’t really seem like they were at that stage of their relationships yet, especially in Sakura’s case.

The most common speculation I’ve been seeing is that it’s after The Last primarily because of Hinata and Naruto’s interaction (though I’d actually argue that this particular factor made me think it was prior to The Last, initially). So I, personally, was a little confused about where in the timeline this particular episode was. Considering it was the gang’s first appearance in their The Last attire (you know, minus the opening and the actual movie), this could have occurred prior to The Last or sometime after it.
